• The manuscript should be coherent and display mastery of language.
• Advise us on the level of readers that your work targets and ensure that you use language appropriate for that level.
• Ensure that you are familiar with the OUP series under which your script would fall.
• For voluminous works of fiction, it helps to write a synopsis detailing the plot, the characters and the message, if any, that is being passed across in the script.
• Submit your manuscript in soft or printed copy.
• Be sure to retain the original copy of your work. While we take great care of the script once we receive it, we do not accept responsibility for its loss or damage.
• Ensure that your postal address, telephone number and email address are clearly indicated on the script, preferably more than once.

After we receive your script, our team of highly skilled editors will assess and decide on whether to publish it or not. If your script is accepted, our team will contact and invite you to enter into a publishing contract with us.

In the event that we do not accept your manuscript, either because it does not meet our standards or because it cannot be fitted into our schedule, we will return it to you, at times with professional tips on how you can make it better. However, we are under no obligation to give assessment reports.
